There are two types of campership assistance:
1. Many congregations provide assistance to their campers. Check with your church concerning their policy and process for getting it paid. You may need to send them an invoice so that they can pay their portion. The conference does not send bills to churches.
2. If there is need for additional help, you may seek assistance from the Outdoor Ministries (ODM) Campership Fund. An application form for the Outdoor Ministries Campership Fund is available as part of the online registration process. The form must be completed and submitted with the registration and deposit. The maximum amount available to each individual is 60% of the early registration camp fee.
Jean Winegardner Labor Day Family Camp Scholarship
Families going to Labor Day Family Camp may apply for the Jean Winegardner Family Camp Scholarship. The application is also available as part of the online registration process for anyone registered for the Labor Day Family Camp.
The Jean Winegardner Labor Day Family Camp Scholarship was created by her daughter and husband in her honor and memory. Jean was a dear friend and supporter of Outdoor Ministries. Family Camp, in July of 1960, was a life-changing experience for her family and started what would become a lifelong love of Outdoor Ministries of the United Church of Christ. Jean was passionate about the camps, serving on many boards and committees through the years, as well as returning often to direct camps. “Nothing would please her more than to know other families will have the opportunity for the life changing experience of camp.”
One scholarship will be awarded each year. This scholarship can provide up to 60% of the registration cost for one household/family to attend the Labor Day Family Camp.
