There’s a lot of work yet to be done to bring our camp all the way up to the attractive levels we want. We have some particular needs, and we’re trusting that there are some work teams that are available to exercise and demonstrate their skills for the camp’s benefit.
SMALL OUTDOOR DECKS AT TWO HILLSIDE CABINS
There is a noticeable lack of outdoor seating that we’d like to change. A modest starting point would be to add a small deck to two cabins. Because the capacity of each cabin is modest the deck does not need to be spacious, an 8’x12’ might be all that is needed. One end of the deck would be attached to the cabin and the other end would have staircase from the ground to the deck itself.
SMALL OUTDOOR STAIRCASE TO WASH HOUSE
A wash house serving a cabin area is accessible by a short path up a dirt bank. The dirt bank needs a staircase for safety. Five or six steps will likely suffice.
This project is similar to the one listed above in that some posts need to be planted in holes, framing needs to be developed, and horizontal pieces are needed for added for strength and seating. Surely there is a crew that has the skills for these tasks. Adult experienced leadership is required. A group of 4-5 would be good for each or 10-12 for at the same time since they are close to each other.
CLEANOUT AND DEMO OF OLD RECYCLING SHED
A young adult group of 5-6 persons who could really get into a messy job of cleaning out a shed would be ideal for this job. Years of accumulation of paint and other containers plus a gazillion plastic stuff needs to be collected, bagged, and discarded. The shed is destined for demo but timing is not decided. We know you’re out there-let us know when we can expect you.
