Hi! Jill here with Outdoor Ministries. If we’ve met, you’ve heard me say “Outdoor Ministries is for everyone, not just kids and youth, although they are a big part of what we do.”
Of course we also love to do Outdoor Ministries at Templed Hills Camp. However, sometimes, like now, we can’t. But the camp spirit doesn’t have to wait until later. Going outside in your yard or a trip around the block is great all the time and especially now. God is everywhere, just look! In growing plants and baby birds hatching in nests, in sparkling streams and the wind in the trees, you can find God at work all around you.
There are two ways we are inviting you to be “at camp, at home.”
First, take pictures of God’s creation and new life in nature, in your yard, or on your daily walks around your block. Please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Below are some photos I took, followed by the photos some of you have already shared.
Second, come to Camp 2.0. Camp 2.0 is our new, online, virtual camp! Instead of meeting at Templed Hills, our camp site, we’ll have a unique web site, online videos, and virtual meetings to engage all campers, and all of it for free.
Learn more on our Camp 2.0 Homepage!
That’s not all, camp will also be “at home” through our Camp in a Box. Each camper who registers is automatically going to be sent a box full of activities and crafts as well as a folder with a guide to the week’s camp curriculum. That way, whether you come to all or some of the camp’s online activities, you’ll have a box full of camp supplies to experience at home.
PS: If your church, like many around our Conference, have decided to skip VBS this year because of health and safety reasons, why not use our camp instead? Any camp program would be a great stand-in for VBS, but we particularly recommend our Faith Adventures Camp.
