Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Question: Has Summer Camp 2020 been Cancelled?
Answer: No. We are preparing for summer camp 2020 and hope that you are looking forward to it to. We will not cancel until much closer to summer when and if the CDC and local governments recommend doing so.
Question: What if physical social gatherings are still prohibited in June and July?
Answer: Currently our Camp Directors are meeting and discussing alternatives. If this becomes a reality, we will share the alternatives that we have planned.
Question: What precautions will you take to ensure no one is at camp with COVID-19?
Answer: Although we cannot guarantee that no one will be at camp that has COVID-19, we will be screening campers and staff for communicable diseases upon arrival, encouraging campers to practice vital hygiene, and continuing to clean regularly with products CDC has approved to combat COVID-19.
Questions: What if I have more questions? When and how will I hear more?

Financial and Registration:
Question: Will I get my money back if you do cancel?
Answer: Yes. If the Heartland Conference cancels any program, you will get a full refund including the deposit. You may also get other options such as transferring to another program or to make a donation to support camp operations in this time.
Question: Will I get a refund if my camper or a family member gets COVID-19 and is unable to attend camp?
Answer: Yes. To receive a refund, you must notify us, the Heartland Conference at email@example.com and request a refund.
Question: Can I wait to register? I’m still not sure because of COVID-19.
Answer: Yes. Some sessions are filling up and spots will be secured on a first come first serve basis. We encourage you to register early to ensure your first choice. However, Early Bird Discount has been extended until May 15, 2020.
Question: I am already registered. Should I pay my balance?
Answer: Yes. Final Balance Deadline has been extended to May 31st. You may still make payments to spread the amount out. Credit Card auto charges will happen as usual on April 1 and May 1st. If you choose to wait to pay your bill, please be prepared to pay in total before May 31st, including your church’s contribution. No one will be allowed to attend camp if they haven’t paid in full.
Question: What if my financial situation has changed because of COVID-19 and I cannot pay by total bill.
Answer: Please let us know. We can help. The conference has a scholarship fund to help campers who need additional help.
- • We encourage campers to check with their local church for support first and if they need additional support to fill out the Heartland Conference Financial aid form.
- • The Heartland Conference Financial assistance form deadline has been extended to May 1st and applicants will be notified by May 15th so that they can pay the remainder of the bill by May 31st.
- • If you have an emergency happen after May 15th before paying the final bill on May 31st, please contact us and we will help as funds are available.
Question: I ordered a T-shirt. Will I still get it if camp is cancelled?
Answer: Yes. T-shirts will be ordered on schedule. Please order and pay by May 10th. If you’d like to cancel your T-shirt order, please do so before May 10th by contacting the Heartland Conference at firstname.lastname@example.org. If we do not hear from you, we will order your t-shirt and it will be at camp when you arrive, or we will discuss other delivery methods.
Templed Hills Camp and Conference Center Site:
Question: What is happening at Templed Hills Camp and Conference Center now?
Answer: Currently camp is closed and locked up. Andy Lacefield, Site Director, is working hard cleaning everything with products CDC approved to combat Covid-19. He is also continuing to work on the daily maintenance of the facilities and grounds so it will be in top shape when we are able to return.
Question: My church group has scheduled and event at Templed Hills Camp and Conference Center and we are not sure if we will still be able to come. Will we lose money? What should we do?
Answer: No. Call UCCR, 800-678-5102. United Camps and Conference Center will work with you during this difficult time. Ideally, we would prefer to reschedule your event for another date or transfer your money to another event you already have planned.
